The Florida Handbook has been uploaded to the Florida Document page and can also be found by clicking here. You will find rehearsal dates, uniform check dates, information on rules and expectations, a chart for how many meals you are responsible for bringing money for, medical forms, a letter for those that will be leaving the trip with parents on the last day, and much more. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Barbaro. Students should get a hard copy of the handbook Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.
Some of the members noticed the "cut and paste" error on the 2011 Meal Chart for the Florida trip. For those of you that like to have it, I have posted an updated (fixed) copy of the chart. It can be found on the Florida page and/or HERE
We have posted the Tentative Itinerary here for you to view. The reason this is tentative is we need to make final arrangements with the hotel breakfast and we need to make sure we are in accordance with the Bus Driver Union rules of drive time and off time. Once these last two are finalized, we will post an itinerary that will have FINAL ITINERARY and the print date so we all know which one to follow. Mr. Barbaro is currently working on the Florida handbook which will also contain a medical form, information on rules and regulations, information on how much money to bring, and a letter to release your child to you on the last day in case you are extending your trip. PLEASE REMEMBER that no refunds can be given for anyone that is going home with their parents for the bus ride and/or not using the Disney Ticket and or Meal Ticket (if applicable) on the last day. ALSO, Students are to remain with the Marching Comets at ALL times and are not permitted to head off with parents and or friends from the itinerary. If you would like to spend time with your child while in Florida, you MUST do it within our proposed schedule at the sites that we are visiting.
Tuesday, March 8th at 7PM in the Steele Band Room. Please call if you can’t make the meeting and Mr. Barbaro will arrange a time for us to get together to go over the details and materials. 988-5246 Thank you for your time and energy going into this exciting time for the marching band.
The Hotel rooming list and the chaperones assigned to each room have been posted to the Florida Documents Page. This is also where you will find the tentative Itinerary as well as the handbook when it is posted. Eventually, allthough we will pass out hard copies to students, all of our Florida documents will be posted to this page. Keep up to date by visiting and downloading important information. Please remember that the last payment, regardless of balance, is due on February 15th. We will also sign up for buses after school on that day. Students must have payment in full BEFORE signing up for a bus.
Mr. Barbaro has given each student a printout of deposits paid to date. Please look over the receipt for any issues and/or mistakes. The final payment is due by February 15th and because of needing to pay IN FULL most of our vendors 4 weeks in advance, we cannot afford to have many students late for this last $90 Deposit. As a tradition, bus sign ups will be after school on Tuesday, February 15th. Students who are paid in full will have priority in signing up for their seats. In the event that everyone has paid, we will go with seniority present at the signup. Please lookout the first couple of weeks in February for the Florida handbook and materials for the trip. Several pieces of paperwork will need to be looked at, signed, and returned in a timely manner. Any questions contact Mr. Barbaro.
We are 1 week from the 4th Disney Deposit. This second to last deposit is for $100 with the last being $90. Because of EXAM week, please get the payment in BEFORE you leave for the long weekend. Along with the 4th Deposit, it is time to assign rooms. Please fill out the following form and turn it into me with payment. ONLY ONE FORM PER ROOM IS NEEDED. Please have the room captian turn in the paperwork. PLEASE READ THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE ASSIGNMENTS SO YOU DO GET THE ROOM AND ROOMATES YOU WISH. If you do not follow the proper procedure, you run the risk of not getting what you request.
The following names have been put on the list of interested chaperones for the trip. It is from this list that chaperones will be picked. We will contact attending chaperones before the first deposit (or sooner) to let them know of their acceptance. Acceptance of chaperones is dependent upon numbers of students attending the trip; balance of female to male chaperones; experience chaperoning with the band; and seniority since Freshman and Sophomores will get another chance to attend in 2013. Any questions, please contact Mr. Barbaro.
