Marching Band CD's
The 2008 Marching Band CD's have arrived. This is by far the best recording that the band has ever done. It is very well balanced and as always, bigger, better, and stronger. For the orders that have been paid for, your children have been given their CD's. All other orders must be paid as soon as possible so we may pay the bill for the materials. Please turn in your money ($16 each) to Mr. Barbaro. Thank you.

Amherst Bands Winter Concert
The Amherst Bands Winter Concert is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16th at 7PM in the Steele Cafetorium. Tickets are $2 each and will be sold at the door. Come enjoy some great concert and holiday music.

Drumline Camps have been scheduled.
The Drill camps have been set.
Our first camp will be December 13th and 14th. Camp will begin around
11AM on Saturday and will continue to 4PM on Sunday. Camps will cost
only for the food that students eat. We usually have parents supply
the meals for a very low cost. All members will sleep in the band room
as we do in the lock-in, get up on Sunday, and practice some more. The
goal of the camp is to learn the marching part of the program and is
important for everyone to participate. The January camp is scheduled
for the 10th and 11th. Our first show is on January 17th at Dublin High School.

Disney Payment #3
The NOVEMBER Disney payment of $150 is due by the end of the week.
This will be the last payment until we return from school in January.
The January payment will only be $100. The last payment (in February)
for Disney will then be determined after taking off the money that was
earned by everyone working Bingo these last few months. Any questions or problems, please contact Mr. Barbaro as soon as possible. Thank you.

Don't miss the 2008 Marching Band Banquet
It was a great season and we want everyone to attend and celebrate our
success. Please print the form LOCATED HERE (students were also handed an
invitation) and mail your reservation to Bonnie Pember. THIS INCLUDES
IF YOU ARE A MARCHING BAND MEMBER AND WILL BE ATTENDING THE BANQUET
SOLO.
Please send in your reservation by the due date. Any questions, please
direct them to Bonnie Pember at the number on the reservation.

Amherst Indoor Drumline
The rumors are true. The Amherst Band Program will be fielding the indoor drumline this season in the Mid-East Association Circuit and will participate in the Ohio Indoor Performance Association Circuit as well. The organization has been approved by the Amherst Band Boosters. A cost of $150 will be charged to each student to cover membership fees and uniform fees. Rehearsals/Auditions for the indoor program will begin on Tuesday, November 11th. Practice for the line will be on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3-6PM. We will compete in 4 to 5 competitions and 1 championship. The show for 2009 also includes spots for 8 guard members. Anyone interested in trying out for the line may come to the first rehearsal on Tuesday for more information.

Banquet
The banquet will be December 3, 2008 at DeLuca's. Doors open at 6:00 and dinner served at 6:30. Dinner for marching members will be paid for by the Boosters. Adults and children over 3 will cost $16.00. Each student should have brought home the reservation form and it should be mailed to Bonnie Pember, not given to Mr. Barbaro, by Nov. 24. You can print the form from the 2008 Banquet tab above.

BINGO
This was a article in the football program with pictures of the seniors.
Booster Bingo operates 52 weeks per year on Wednesdays and second and fourth Sundays. By state law, NO ONE GETS PAID TO WORK BINGO. All of the work is performed by parent volunteers and the net proceeds are distributed under the charitable gambling guidelines through the State of Ohio. The Teams (Band) receive money in proportion to the amount of time the parents have worked.
Chris has designated all monies to be applied to the trip fees so the more people that work the more money we make. That being said, For October

That could mean 1150.00 in our band account plus the 350 we normally earn with redliners for a total of 1500.00
That is almost three people trip fees.
You can sign up at Nord school during bingo hours.
We still need someone to commit to the second Sunday from 3;30 to 6:00 in the kitchen. Let me know if you have someone willing to make phone calls and get people scheduled. I will not sign up for band slots until I have people willing to show and up and commit or we lose money that a few of us have earned by taking red line positions and making a yearly commitment.
